Basic Screening
The Basic Screening is designed to eliminate friction with guests while providing you with extra reassurance. It has zero guest interaction and will run automatically upon creation of a booking.
What Does It Check?
Upon receiving a booking confirmation from your PMS, we automatically conduct the following checks:
- Email: We verify that the email address is deliverable and not temporary or disposable.
- Phone: We verify that the phone number is deliverable and not disposable.
- Watchlist: We check the guest against our internal watchlist of guests who have previously caused damage and not paid for it
Once the checks are completed, we automatically generate a Guest Report that shows in your dashboard and includes more detailed explanations of the checks for each guest.
You also have the option to perform manual screenings if you have the name and contact information.
Guest Report Results
Approved
An example of an approved Guest Report, with completed email, phone number, and watchlist checks. Because this guest is approved, they qualify for the full protection amount of $50,000 for their booking.
Flagged
An example of a flagged Guest Report.
In this case, the phone number was not deliverable, meaning messages weren’t going through. This could be for any number of reasons, including the number or address being disconnected or invalid.
Because this guest has been flagged, their booking is only protected for up to $1000.
Rejected
An example of a rejected Guest Report.
This guest was found on our internal watchlist, indicating they have previously caused damage during a stay and refused to pay for it. This means their booking does not qualify for any protection at all.
Important: if a guest is rejected by our Basic Screening and there are other services in the program that would trigger a guest journey (such as a deposit or waiver), no guest journey is created, and no communication is sent to the guest.
Terms & Conditions
The terms set out here govern the Basic Screening Service (“Screening” or “the Service”) provided by Truvi Technologies Ltd (“Truvi”) to Hosts. These terms may be amended, modified, or updated from time to time at Truvi’s sole discretion. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised terms on Truvi’s Platforms. It is the Host’s responsibility to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any updates and the Host’s continued use of the Service shall be deemed acceptance of any updated terms.
HOW IT WORKS
1.1. When using Truvi’s Platform or API, Hosts can apply the subscribed Service to any qualifying Booking. Additionally, that Booking must be pulled through to the same Platform or API.
1.2. Screening is a contactless Service that requires no Guest interaction.
WHAT IT IS
2.1. Screening is an automated verification process that provides Hosts with more detailed information about their Guests. Details about Host’s Guests that are automatically extracted from reservation details are then used to build a report that will be placed in the Host’s dashboard.
2.2. The following Guest details are required to fulfill this Service and are used to complete the below verifications:
2.2.1. Guest Information:
2.2.1.1. Full Name.
2.2.1.2. Watchlist Check: Flagged for potential risk against Truvi’s internal Watchlist.
2.2.2. Contact Information:
2.2.2.1 Email Verification: Checks age of email and association with online accounts (g. Netflix, Google, Facebook).
2.2.2.2. Valid Phone Number: Confirms deliverability and SIM type (disposable vs. contract).
STATUS AND FEES
3.1. Following the completion of Screening, the Host will be provided with a status. The status can be:
3.1.1. Approved;
3.1.2. Flagged; or
3.1.3. Rejected.
3.2. The Fee chargeable for Screening shall be outlined on Truvi’s Platform and/or the Host’s Order Form and may form part of a fee for a package of Truvi services.
3.3. The Host will be charged for a completed Screening only. A completed Screening means that the relevant Guest and subsequently the Booking has been assigned either an “Approved”, “Flagged”, or “Rejected” status and occurs immediately once the Booking is pulled through to Truvi.
HOST OBLIGATIONS
4.1. The Host shall undertake the duty to introduce and prominently display the details of the Screening Service to Guests in appropriate locations, including by reference to Truvi’s Privacy Policy. These locations may include the property listing itself or the Host’s official website.
LIMITATIONS
5.1. Screening is a mandatory Service for all Bookings and necessary for the Host to be provided with certain additional services.
5.2. If the Screening is not completed, other services that the Host is subscribed to may no longer be applied to the Booking.
5.3. Truvi bears no liability to the Host for any Booking that has not received an “Approved” status. Truvi shall not be held liable for any damage resulting from errors or omissions in information, instructions, or scripts provided by the Host in connection with the Service. Truvi assumes no responsibility for actions taken at the Host’s discretion.
