Check whether a booking is protected

Every booking on a program with protection gets a risk rating when it’s imported. The rating decides whether the booking is protected.

See a booking’s protection status

  1. Open Bookings in your Truvi dashboard.
  2. Find the booking. The Protection column shows its protection range, such as $0 - $500.
  3. Click the booking to open its booking report.
  4. Find the Protection Eligibility section. It shows the risk rating and the reasons behind it.

If your program doesn’t include protection, the booking has no risk rating.

What each risk rating means

  • Low, Moderate or High: the booking is protected.
  • Critical: the booking is Not protected. A guest on Truvi’s watchlist always gets a Critical rating.

The rating is set when the booking is imported. It can’t be changed.

What 'Not protected' means for you

  • You can’t submit a claim for the booking. What’s protected and what isn’t explains what you can claim for.
  • You won’t be charged for protection on this booking. You’re still charged for any screening checks that ran.
  • We email you when a booking is Not protected.

A cancelled booking isn’t protected either.

What you can do with a Not protected booking

You can keep the booking without protection, or cancel it. Bookings can’t be cancelled in Truvi. Cancel it in your property management system (PMS), your booking site, or the channel the guest booked on.

Why a booking got its rating

The booking report lists any of these that apply:

  • Booking duration: the stay is 21 days or longer.
  • Lead time: the booking was made 1 day or less before check-in.
  • Guest under 21: the guest is under 21.
  • Guest within 10 miles: the guest lives within 10 miles of the listing.
  • Booking patterns: the booking matches patterns linked to higher risk.

If none apply, the report says “No major risk indicators identified”.
