How Truvi contacts your guest
If your program includes ID Verification, Criminal Background Check or Sex Offender Check, Truvi contacts your guest to ask them to verify. On a program with only Screening, Truvi doesn’t contact your guest.
When Truvi emails and texts your guest
Truvi emails your guest a verification link when the booking comes into Truvi. If the booking has no email address, Truvi texts the link instead.
Until your guest verifies, Truvi sends reminders:
- 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after the booking is made
- 7, 3 and 1 day before check-in, and on the day of check-in
These are sent automatically.
Tell your guest to expect it
Add this wording to your listing description:
Important: Before you arrive, you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process.
Add this wording to your booking confirmation email:
Important: As stated in our listing, you will be asked to complete guest verification through Truvi, a third-party provider. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text. Please complete this prior to your stay to provide a smooth check-in.
Bookings that come straight to you
For bookings that aren’t in your PMS, send your guest a One-Step Link. Your guest adds their booking to Truvi and verifies in one go.
Turn off guest contact for a channel
You can stop Truvi contacting guests who booked through a particular channel, such as Airbnb. Bookings from that channel are still imported, screened and protected. You aren’t charged for the checks that don’t run.
- Go to Settings, then Channel Management.
- Switch on the toggle next to the channel.
- Click Confirm and apply.
This only applies to new bookings. Bookings already in Truvi aren’t affected.
