ID Verification
ID verification is a service that matches up a real-time photo of the guest with a real-time photo of their ID. If the photos match, the guest will be verified and you will then see the full booking report in your dashboard.
How does it work?
- Guest takes a real-time selfie and ID photo
- Photos are compared using facial biometric recognition
- Name is checked against the ID
- DOB is checked against the ID
Verification results will then be returned as follows:
Status | Meaning |
---|---|
Approved | Guest’s submitted ID and selfie have passed the screening and matching or been manually passed by the guest services team after review |
In Review | Guest’s submitted ID and selfie have been raised to the guest services team to review manually and may require further action from the guest to become approved |
Pending | Guest has not yet attempted this screening service |
Rejected | Guest’s submitted ID and selfie have been manually flagged as fraudulent or inappropriate by the guest services team after review |
If the photos are flagged or do not match, our Guest Services team will follow up directly with the guest within 30 minutes and give them a chance to re-submit for verification. We offer this support 24/7 365 days a year.
Please note that this service does not include a check for the validity of the ID itself.

Terms & Conditions
The terms set out here govern the ID Verification Service (“ID Verification” or “the Service”) provided by Truvi Technologies Ltd (“Truvi”) to Hosts. These terms may be amended, modified, or updated from time to time at Truvi’s sole discretion. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised terms on Truvi’s Platforms. It is the Host’s responsibility to review these terms periodically to stay informed of any updates and the Host’s continued use of the Service shall be deemed acceptance of any updated terms.
1. HOW IT WORKS
1.1. When using Truvi’s Platform or API, Hosts can apply the subscribed Service to any qualifying Booking. The qualifying Booking must have either Basic Screening or Screening Plus applied, otherwise the Booking is ineligible for ID Verification. Additionally, that Booking must be pulled through to the same Platform or API.
1.2. ID Verification is a Service that requires Guest interaction via the Guest journey.
2. WHAT IT IS
2.1. The Guest submits a real-time photo of their government-issued photo ID and a real-time selfie via the Guest journey. A biometric verification between the photo ID and the selfie will be performed. The Guest’s details, submitted during the steps within the completed Guest journey, are then used to verify against the Guest’s photo ID and generate a report that will be placed in the Host’s dashboard.
2.2. The following Guest details are required to fulfill this Service and are used to complete the below verifications:
2.2.1. Guest Information:
2.2.1.1. Full Name: The Guest’s full name from the photo ID is checked against the account details they submitted during the first verification step of the Guest Journey.
2.2.1.2. Date of Birth: The Guest’s date of birth from the photo ID is checked against the account details they submitted during the first verification step of the Guest Journey.
2.2.2. Biometric Information:
2.2.2.1 Biometric Verification: Compares the picture on the photo ID with the selfie to ensure they match and are not too similar, preventing attempts to trick the system.
3. STATUS AND FEES
3.1. Following the completion of ID Verification, the Host will be provided with a status instantly or once reviewed by Admin. The status can be:
3.1.1. Approved;
3.1.2. In Review
3.1.3. Pending; or
3.1.4. Rejected.
3.2. If ID Verification receives a status of “In Review”, Admin will follow up directly with the Guest within 30 minutes, allowing them a chance to re-submit their photo ID and/or selfie. Truvi shall make this support available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
3.3. The Fee chargeable per Booking for ID Verification shall be outlined on Truvi’s Platform and/or the Host’s Order Form and may form part of a fee for a package of Truvi services.
3.4. The Host will be charged for a completed ID Verification only at the end of the month in which the status is given regardless of cancellation of the Booking. A completed ID Verification means that the relevant Guest and subsequently the Booking has been assigned either an “Approved”, “In Review” or “Rejected” status.
4. HOST OBLIGATIONS
4.1. The Host shall undertake the duty to introduce and prominently display the details of the ID Verification Service to Guests in appropriate locations, including by reference to Truvi’s Privacy Policy. These locations may include the property listing itself or the Host’s official website.
5. LIMITATIONS
5.1. ID Verification does not include checking the validity of the photo ID itself.
5.2. ID Verification is an optional upgraded Service for all Bookings where either the Basic Screening or Screening Plus Services have been applied.
5.3. Truvi bears no liability to the Host for any Booking that has not received an “Approved” status. Truvi shall not be held liable for any damage resulting from errors or omissions in information, instructions, or scripts provided by the Host in connection with the Service. Truvi assumes no responsibility for actions taken at the Host’s discretion.
