If a guest cancels, will the damage waiver fee be refunded?

This article outlines if a guest will be refunded their damage waiver due to a cancellation.

Via a One Step Link (OSL)

If you use our One Step Link integration, in order to refund a guest their deposit, it is important that you cancel the verification within Superhog. To do this, complete the following steps:

  1. In your Superhog account, navigate to Bookings.
  2. Locate the guest who you need to cancel the verification for. You can use the search function at the top to easily find the required guest.
  3. Click on the three dots (...) to the right of the guest’s Status and click Cancel verification.

Once manually cancelled in the dashboard, the damage waiver will be automatically refunded back to your guest.

This refund is processed by Stripe and will be returned to the guest within 3-7 business days, depending on their bank.


Via a Property Management System (PMS)

If you are integrated with a PMS, the cancellation status will update automatically.

Once the booking is cancelled, the damage waiver will be automatically refunded back to your guest.

This refund is processed by Stripe and will be returned to the guest within 3-7 business days.
